About THE NORTH FACE
The North Face is a company founded by environmental activist Douglas Tompkins, specializing in sportswear and accessories, mostly geared towards mountain activities, as well as trail running.
The legend on the origin of the name alternates between the fact that the north face of a mountain is generally the most difficult to climb, and that the first shop was opened in North Beach.
Originally, the brand, which was then in 1964 only a specialized shop, was primarily intended for climbing and camping. An important evolution of the tents in 1966 made its success: the first tents with flexible rods, dome-shaped without stakes on the inside. The headquarters of The North Face were originally based in North Beach, San Francisco, but are nowadays in San Leandro, near San Francisco.
The North Face often collaborates with the famous brand New York Supreme and other brands like VANS VAULT
